Oerknal was scheduled to be ensemble-in-residence for the 12th Edition of the Bilgi New Music Festival Istanbul. As part of this residency, we were to work intensively with composition students from Bilgi University as well as young composers from throughout Turkey in workshops and rehearsals, culminating in a final performance of selected works in Istanbul. Due to travel and performance limitations brought about by the coronavirus pandemic, we were forced to organize the festival digitally. With the help and support of many generous collaborators we were able to work with the composers digitally, and crafting a video recording of the final performance filmed and directed by video artist Anisa Xhomaqi, which was subsequently streamed from the Bilgi YouTube channel.
