DELIAN ACADEMY FOR NEW MUSIC | 12 thru 18 June
Oerknal has been chosen as ensemble-in-residence for the first annual Delian Academy for New Music. Curated under the auspices of Georges Aperghis, the Academy derives its name from the nearby island of Delos, the birthplace of Apollo and an UNESCO world heritage site. All rehearsals and performances will take place in the Grypario Cultural Center on the Greek island of Mykonos. As part of this residency we will workshop and perform new/revised works by nine participant composers as well as ensemble, chamber, and solo works by Georges Aperghis, Dimitri Papageorgiou, and Panayiotis Kokoras.
